Hey everyone, we recently bought an apartment in Varna that needs a pretty extensive overhaul, including some layout changes, new plumbing, and finishing work. We are currently living abroad and won't be able to supervise the site every single day, so finding someone trustworthy and organized is our top priority. Could anyone recommend a reliable builder or renovation team that speaks English and can provide references or photos of past projects? We'd love to hear about your experiences, whether good or bad, to help us avoid any major headaches.

We used VarnaBuild Pro last year for a full apartment gut and remodel while we were in Germany. Honestly, it was a pretty smooth process and they sent us daily WhatsApp updates with photos.

That sounds amazing! Do you mind sharing roughly how much they charged per square meter for the finishing work?

Be very careful with local independent teams if you cannot be there in person. Many will try to cut corners with materials when the owners are abroad.

I completely second what @balkan_nomad said. My friend bought a place in Chaika district and the crew completely ghosted them halfway through the plumbing installation.

Try contacting Alpha Renovations Varna. The project manager lived in the UK for ten years, so his English is flawless and he deals with all the bureaucracy.

Do Alpha Renovations handle structural layout changes too, or just cosmetic stuff like painting and flooring?

They did load-bearing wall modifications for us with an official engineer's stamp, so yes, they do full-scale construction.

Whatever you do, make sure you sign a very detailed contract with penalty clauses for delays. Otherwise, your renovation will drag on for months.

So true! A contract is the only way to protect yourself here, especially from sudden price hikes on building materials.

Check out a company called MasterStroy Varna. They renovated our kitchen and bathroom, very professional and clean.

Good luck with your project! Renovating from abroad is stressful, but definitely doable with the right crew.
