I'm currently looking at a few different properties and came across a really interesting artist studio, or 'atelier', that's been converted into a residential loft. It's in a great neighborhood, but I'm worried about the legal classification and how that affects ongoing costs. Does anyone know if property taxes and municipal assessments are typically higher for an atelier space compared to a regular apartment of a similar size? I want to make sure I'm factoring all the hidden expenses into my budget before making an offer.
